AI policy

It is possible to be critical of AI while still using it, much like some climate activists occasionally do drive cars.

However, there are areas where I do not use any automated tools:

  • writing articles and headlines,
  • choosing topics to cover,
  • reading and summarizing documents of any kind,
  • creating illustrations.

In all these instances, the automated generation of content, images, or text inevitably distorts the creative process and, consequently, the final product.
Conversely, I do use large language models for tasks that do not influence the newsletter:

  • machine translation for reading content in languages foreign to me,
  • online research (most search engine providers have very unfortunately decided to kill their own products, making chatbot-based search unavoidable),
  • and the automatic generation of code, as long as its execution remains exclusively on a local computer.
